Three parts, one path that climbs.

The house is planned as three parts: public, semi-public and private.

Circulation behaves like a graph. It starts at a bottom corner and rises upward, linking the three parts one after another.

Basheer Residence is one of our larger homes, built around warm timber, marble and quiet transitions between spaces.

Each bedroom carries its own identity, while the shared spaces stay tied together by the same warm palette and long, light-filled corridors.

Residence

Warm timber, playful accents.

Asif Residence is an interior-focused project in Moozhikkal, Calicut, now nearing completion.

Herringbone timber floors, cane furniture and patterned tile inlays run through the living and dining spaces, with pops of blue and ochre giving each room its own character.

Residence

A hanging chair, and a warm neutral palette.

Thufail Residence is a home in Kodiyathur, Calicut, where the drawings are now nearly complete.

Patterned tile flooring and a curved central staircase tie the ground floor together, with warm neutrals carrying through into the living spaces above.

A circular skylight over the porch roof.

Nilaavu Residence is a 2,200 sq ft home in Calicut, with a deep, angled roof and a brick-clad base that grounds the white upper volume.

A circular cut-out in the porch roof brings filtered light and a framed view of the tree growing through it — one small move that gives the whole entrance its character.

About Us

Earthwise Architecture began in Chevarambalam, Calicut — not in a conventional office, but inside a converted old house, the kind of space that still has something to teach us about building well. Co-founded by Shabeer Jan and Aflah Zaman, the studio was built on a simple idea: architecture should be considered, not decorative.

We work project by project, staying close to site, material, and the people who will actually live in what we design. We're not chasing volume — we're building toward being a premium, award-winning studio, the kind of reputation that comes from work holding up over time, not from a portfolio of renders.

This site is a running record of that: the homes we've shaped, the process behind them, and the people building them with us.
